ALI’S QUILL Edition One
A New Chapter Begins
You may have noticed a new name for our weekly letters… Ali’s Quill
It felt like the right moment for this change, as the way we connect with you continues to evolve.
What began as simple updates has grown into something more considered, and a place to share ideas, inspiration and the quieter moments of creating a home.
The name reflects not only this sense of maturing, but also the joy with which these letters are received each week… thoughtful, personal and a little like a note from a friend.
It also speaks to something deeper, a return to slower, more intentional communication, where words are chosen with care, much like the pieces we curate for your home.
And over time, I hope these letters become something you return to… a collection of ideas and reflections, gathered along the way.
A New Space in Orange
There’s something quietly exciting happening at Cloth & Feather.
At the end of this month, we will be opening a space within Dirty Jane’s in Byng Street, a beautiful destination known for its character, history and thoughtfully curated collections.
From April 30th, you will find a selection of our leather and equestrian-inspired pieces available there… extending our reach beyond Mudgee and into a new and like-minded community.
It feels like a very natural next step, sharing what we do with a wider audience, while remaining grounded in the same philosophy of timeless, layered interiors.
If you find yourself in Orange, we would absolutely love you to visit.

Preparing Your Home for Winter
![]() |
As Anzac Day approaches, we often feel that first real shift in the season, with cooler mornings, longer evenings, and sometimes even the first frost.
This is the moment to begin gently preparing your home for winter.
Layer Soft Textiles
Introduce throws in wool, cashmere or heavy linen across sofas and beds for warmth and softness.
Add Warm Lighting
Swap to softer globes or introduce lamps to create a gentle evening glow.
Bring in Deeper Tones
Cushions and textiles in olive, rust and deep neutrals instantly create a sense of cosiness.
New Arrivals from India

We’ve just received a truly special delivery… a collection of pure pashmina scarves, sourced during our recent travels in India.
Pashmina is one of the most luxurious natural fibres in the world, sourced from the fine undercoat of goats that live at high altitudes in the Himalayan region of Kashmir.
These extreme conditions produce fibres that are incredibly soft, yet remarkably warm.
What makes pashmina so unique is its exceptional warmth-to-weight ratio, providing beautiful warmth without heaviness — perfect for layering through the cooler months.
Our new collection features a rainbow of colours, from soft neutrals to richer seasonal tones. These are pieces to wear, to gift, and to treasure for years to come.
Three Simple Winter Styling Cheats
If you're looking for quick ways to make your home feel instantly cosier:
Drape a Throw Where You Sit Most
A sofa or favourite chair becomes instantly more inviting.
Switch to Warmer Bulbs
Evening light should feel soft and gentle, not bright.
Add One Extra Cushion
An additional cushion brings both comfort and visual warmth.
“The way a home feels in winter is less about what you add, and more about how you layer.”
